Trump is angry, Trump is mad, Trump is fuming away
Because his lawyers hired one week ago had their say 
And rather than derailing his trial as they were bid
They rambled so nonsensically their strategy they hid
And nobody could understand one thing they had to say

So Trump lost the first round as his trial gets underway.

Rubio and Cotton, Scott, Rand Paul, and all the rest

Know that for what Trump did there is no logical defense

And so they shuffled papers, doodled, tried to look away

When clear video evidence was placed on full display

And by the end of the first day with writing on the wall

Only 6 of 50 Republicans looked at all.

And so today begins day two, Trump’s trial will proceed

With Democratic arguments Republicans won’t heed

No matter what the evidence, no matter what the facts

Republicans will defend Trump against all Dem attacks

There’s really only one need alone for them to be there

To cast their fact-ignoring votes their party to ensnare.

The Democrats will argue future riots will soon be

Unless Trump’s held accountable and not let off scot free

Republicans will look away until it’s time for votes

With fear of Trump’s retribution wrapped tight around their throats

A few brave ones may slip the noose to with the Dems convict

But most will straight to hell there party’s future fate inflict.

Trump has abandoned the fine cultists he told to go riot

But under that bus his toads hope they won’t go if they’re quiet

And vote to acquit him to again let him off the hook

After they ignore evidence at which they will not look

And thus go the Republicans through see no evil votes

To wear their albatross named Trump more tight around their throats.
