The governor blamed the Green New Deal for the lack of heat
That all those freezing in his state do not consider neat
He said windmills and solar panels were the parts to blame
For taking his state’s power out like an extinguished flame
But then his state power officials said that was not true
Those parts provide 13% so their blame is undue.
The mayor of a Texas city was forced to resign
After a backlash about the opinions he’d opine
That all his city’s residents were lazy bums at best
For not embracing freezing as their toughness-proving test
He said they were all wimps so they’ve now told him to get lost
Life to them is more precious than no handouts at all cost.
And former Governor Perry who wanted Energy
Be one of three department he did not want to see
And although he forgot its name during a hot debate
Was placed by Trump in charge of it because there he’d be great
Says every Texan should be ready to just volunteer
To freeze to death to throw socialism’s scourge out on its ear.
Let freezing Texans serve hereafter as a prime example
Of where blind ideology leads when it’s the preamble
That guides how a state determines to independent stay
Until a freeze makes even those where Rush Limbaugh held sway
Shiver in cold dark houses where some may finally see
That sharing in the common good does not mean tyranny.
