A Party Divided

Fly down to Mar-A-Lago, genuflect and kiss his ring
And you too can participate in Trump’s return as king

When he emerges from exile you can tag along

Because your visit proves your loyalty to him is strong

Already Mark and Kevin and Lindsey have made the trip

It won’t be long before all do still held in his firm grip.

The sycophant nitwits that most Republicans are now

Means pilgrimages to Florida in droves will soon plow

To pledge allegiance to the one they’ve chosen above all

The democratic principles his kingship will forestall

And thus prove themselves worthy despite his whole riot fuss

Of not being the next in line he throws under the bus.

Republicans with lines drawn between Trumper sycophants

And those who hope they can on past ways again hang their hats

Are drawing apart more each day without an end in sight

That could cause their divided camps to once again unite

Thus they’ll destroy their party like the Whig party before

And like Whigs will not someday be remembered anymore.
