Comic Duo

Great comic duos in the past were funny as could be
How can you not laugh when you’re watching Laurel and Hardy?

Or Abbott and Costello wondering who’s that on first?

The humor such pairs provided were classic forms of mirth

But now we have a duo funnier than all the rest

A pair that’s more hilarious than the previous best!  

Of course I refer to the comic pair Hawley and Cruz

When it comes to being jokes such bozos cannot lose

While one’s in a ditch digging deeper as fast as can be

The other’s claiming that for Texas he did his duty

And both act shocked, shocked I tell you, that anyone would say

They thereby are not Patriots in each and every way.

Hawley wants Trump’s most rabid cult members on his side

To keep divisions in the country gaping miles wide

But as for Cruz it’s very hard to discern any plan

Beyond maybe again wanting to read Green Eggs And Ham

Who cares?, as comic duos go this pair cannot be topped

As long as ball-less Republicans won’t help get them stopped.

So stand by for more antics from the Cruz and Hawley team

That will tickle your funny bone so much you’ll want to scream

Watch ambition dig Hawley ever deeper in his ditch

While duty’s the defense that Cruz around himself does stitch

And realize that no matter what grave matters we now face

Within the halls of Congress comedy proceeds apace.
