A slew of new voting restrictions coming in the wake

Of Biden’s win are what Republicans hope it will take

To have at least a shot to win and win and win again

By making so-called legal voting something they suspend

In states where those who don’t look like them just flocked to the polls

To stop their fine white candidates from achieving their goals.

In Georgia where the past election lost for them the Senate

They’re trying hard to justify their next move and defend it

To give themselves an edge in future elections next time

They want restrictions left and right with both reason and rhyme

To limit voting rights and times and drop-boxes’ locations

And thus reduce non-white vote counts from future state equations.

Deep in the heart of Texas it’s “voting integrity”

That’s the new buzz-word behind making voting lots less free

By reducing the number of early vote casting days

In a move backed by Trump to bring to Dem voters malaise

And keep Texas the fine white state its whites want it to be

Despite Hispanic residents growing so rapidly.

North Carolina was shocked, shocked I tell you this last time

At how the Democrats came close in a state red as wine

To removing that state from the Trump bandwagon ensemble 

With vote tallies so razor thin they made fine whites there tremble

New “Voter ID” laws therefore they’re rushing to push through

Just like other states are where win votes were almost too few.

Citing Trump’s meritless claims of “Voter Fraud” (Oy Vay!)

And supporting his drive to trust in vote counts do away

Deep red state after deep red state has started scrambling 

To overturn legal voting and thus return full swing

To golden times when white males only alone got to vote

And voting rights for blacks and browns were not even remote.

To get a shot at winning renewed fighting’s underway

To turn the clock back to when whites alone had any say

In how each vote would turn out because they alone were voting

Thanks to restrictions red states had then they’re again promoting

That make state residents travel once they provide IDs

Miles to vote from where they can’t mail-in their votes with ease.
