Counter Blows

There was no “final straw” that made Scott Pruitt have to go
Instead it was the house of cards he built that winds did blow
The “public outcry” got too windy for ME to ignore
So ‘though I loved his LOYALTY he’s now blown out the door.

Of course I let him “resign” and praised him to blackened skies
Ignoring crimes and misdemeanors piled to Great size
But I knew if those winds blew stronger they would bring him down
So after five hundred and three days he’s blown out of town.

Those stupid “public outcry” winds blow stronger every day
I find it hard to stand against them despite winds I say
I always claim the WHOLE country loves how I’m leading it
But to claim that I have to stage mass rallies where I am a hit.

My faithful LOYAL stupid Base eats up MY windy claims
But outside every rally “public outcry” spreads like flames
As long as I keep rallying the hot winds MY mouth blows
Will counter so-called “winds of change” but for how long who knows?

We’ll have to wait and see if MY winds are the stronger force
Against massed public “winds of change” that don’t MY winds endorse
Hot public winds blew down Scott Pruitt, he’s now memory
And I MUST keep on rallying to blow them back from ME.

My faithful LOYAL stupid Base finds winds I blow refreshing
But how long they’ll still wait for jobs to blow their way I’m guessing
And I guess there is still time to blow hot winds a bit more
Before I too get blown away by “winds of change” that roar.
