Oblivious

You’re not in Kansas anymore if a Republican
Legislator in that state you are now or have been
Recently because no matter what your voters say
They want you plug your ears and turn your face from them away.

Despite strongly held preferences majorities express
You refuse to enact desired policies they bless

And enact direct opposites which may be out of spite

Or maybe just because your arrogance tells you you’re right.

You will not be in Kansas politics much longer if

When to what most of your voters want you give an arm stiff

Do you ignore their wishes out of spite or arrogance 

Or are you just oblivious to what they’d you convince?

Whatever your reason for making your voters so sore

You’re really aren’t in the same Kansas they are anymore

And if you don’t unplug your ears and vote as they desire

Somewhere over rainbows ahead their votes will you retire.
