Playing With Themselves

There seems to be a battle raging back behind the scenes
About idiots Trump endorses and those he demeans
Conservative are worried moles McConnell’s placed inside
The staff within Trump’s inner circle are turning the tide
By getting him to endorse candidates who have no chance
Of winning but Trump has invited anyway to dance.

Dr. Oz is the latest loser Trump did endorse

Despite the fact his campaign’s stalled after running off course 

But Trump was somehow convinced to say he wants Oz to win

Despite all indications he will take it on the chin

Conservatives lash out about Trump getting played again

By moles McConnell arranged to influence from within.

Trump probably believes that his endorsement is enough

To overcome all obstacles to those having it tough

His ego won’t let him accept anyone he endorses

Is riding off to defeat on the back of losing horses

It’s easy to play an ego convinced it’s always right

But how will it react when those endorsed lose every fight?

No doubt he’ll scream about fake fraud faux voting once again

And vast left-wing conspiracy that his choices upend

And maybe there really are moles McConnell did emplace

Playing Trump to endorse losers so far off win pace

But I suspect it’s just Trump’s ego playing with itself

That keeps on picking losers from the bargain basement shelf.

Trump’s ego reassures him his endorsements are enough

By themselves to make losers overcome runs raced so rough

An ego like his would be easy for staff moles to sway

But moles aren’t needed when it’s with themselves that egos play

Trump’s ego convinces himself everyone endorsed’s golden

And since he’s never wrong if some then lose they had votes stolen.
