Trump is running out of gas so today’s story goes
Written by a never-Trumper liberal I suppose
And it may very well be true when all is said and done
Because a whiny broken record is all he’s become

Stuck playing past complaints from which he cannot move ahead
Thus filling smart Republicans (those few still left) with dread.

McConnell wants “the dirty truth” be told another tale

Says because he wants Trump to from the Grand Old Party bail

And it’s hard for the Turtleman to keep pulling the strings

Of the party Trump’s constant whining about losing stings

Between Mitch and Trump there is no love lost in any way

Because they both believe their type of power should hold sway.

These stories may seem unconnected but they’re really not

The question is who prevails when a party goes to pot

A corrupt wannabe dictator married to a slut

Or arm-twisting manipulator stuck in an old rut?

It depends on the candidates each side can get packed in

But either way the party never will be grand again.

Those sitting on the sidelines watch the party’s end unfold

As Trump-endorsed incompetents whose loyalty is gold

To him run against old guard veterans desperate to retain

Their seats of power from which they once ran the party’s train

It looks like Trump clone idiots could take the winner’s prizes

But idiot hares racing smart turtles foretell surprises.
