Prior Stupid Strategies

Republican were sure if they did not participate
As members of Jan 6’s committee things would turn out great
By staying on the sidelines they could accuse Democrats 
Of forming one-sided opinions about Jan 6 scraps
Because if only Dems and RINOS on the panel sat
They could ignore all findings and that simply would be that.

They did not think those helping Trump plan his coup would truth squeal

And massively miscalculated the facts they’d reveal

And since they withdrew all those they had named initially

To be seated as members and thus informants would be

They have no one inside revealing what real members find

Because dumb choices made before have made them left behind.

As Trump-linked coup insiders decide to cooperate

Republican decisions to sit out aren’t looking great

They thought their non-participation would be advantageous

Because they could then claim committee findings were outrageous

But prior stupid strategies they thought so smart before

Have placed between what’s being heard and their ears a locked door.
