Marching Orders

At Trump’s “I Was Robbed!” rally in Texas the other day
His brain once again got into the teleprompter’s way
Whatever it was he planned to say was not what was heard
As his word salad he tossed out passed way beyond absurd
So now Twitter is atwitter and mocking him like blazes
About his mangled malaprops and tortured turns of phrases.

Synapses in Trump’s orange brain are randomly connected

Thus making what comes out of his pig mouth weirdly inflected

As a result word salads he serves up to rally guests

Contain phrases for which late night comics feel they’ve been blessed

And for which Twitter twitters merrily once he’s done speaking

Without needing to search far for his hackneyed terms worth seeking.

But kidding aside evil underlies each scrambled word

And that evil is what rally crowds are glad they have heard

As they head home to plan new ways to take their country back

And return their Dear Leader to the top of power’s stack

To them it does not matter if Trump’s mangled words aren’t clear

His marching orders under them were what they come to hear.
