Train Wreck

Congress heads for a train wreck as future deadlines rage
And shutdown looms they can’t seem to find ways to disengage
Republicans spin gaslit lies like tornados spin weather
And Democrats can’t seem to get their total act together
So lines of demarcation like chasms are gaping large

Across the track on which the Hill train can no longer charge.

Republicans take cover behind barricades they’ve built

Of threats designed to prevent probing insurrection’s tilt

While Democrat outliers prevent party unity

So governing is not something from either side we see

And the stalemate just keeps on running forward without check

With nothing getting done as Congress heads for a train wreck.

But hey…if nothing’s getting done and is unlikely to

What’s the big deal about a shutdown for a year or two?

Republicans already wrecked the government, OK?

With roadblocks Democrats aren’t willing to around sashay

So if nothing is getting done let’s just let the train break

Since neither side can clear their tracks to governing partake?
