When you’re digging in a hole and it is getting deeper
Digging deeper will not make the hole’s sides grow less steeper
You cannot dig your way back up when you are heading down
Especially if as Texas governor you’re a clown
Who doesn’t have a clue about how poorly you’re perceived
As with each deeper shovelful more people get aggrieved.

Greg Abbott has now dug so deep down in red Texas dirt
He may never emerge again and that is bound to hurt
He chance of gaining ground above where he’s digging below
Because the further down he digs the less his chances grow
Of emerging triumphant from the deep hole he’s created
By doing what Texans don’t dig and by which aren’t elated.
But ever downward he’ll keep digging because he can’t stop
Believing as directions go rock bottom he can’t top
And if he digs down deep enough his digging will reveal
The deep state liberals below the surface do conceal
Which he will expose if he keeps on digging day and night
And ignores the ‘wrong track’ those up above him say’s not right.
Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis are in a digging race
To see how low their polls can go by increasing the pace
Of digging deep holes in the states they are supposed to lead
And thereby betting on hard right turns as deep holes they need
To dig their way down to top status as Trump wannabe
Though their polls plunging down with them make upturns hard to see.
The bottom line within the holes they’ve dug is ‘double down’
The one direction they both learned from the big one way clown
Who never reverses direction once his course he’s set
Which always seems to be straight down as low as he can get
So to top him they’re digging ever deeper without fear
While overhead low polls scream loud but they’re too deep to hear.
