Scared

Basing policy on fear’s not a great way to win
But Georgia Republicans don’t know how else to begin
To gain enough votes to maintain their minority power
Unless they pass restrictive laws behind which they can cower
And so to gerrymandering and mail-in vote delay
They’re adding vote suppression laws based on fear all the way.

As goes Georgia so also goes all other once red states
That are now growing less red at increased alarming rates
Purple may be kingly but does also indicate
That GOP chances to win in purple states ain’t great
And with the trend continuing just deep red states will be
The last able to maintain their red state’s majority.

So poor empurpled Georgia is the state leading the way
Away from what democracy down there once held some sway
With Florida and Texas also in the conga line
That’s dancing away from fair voting one state at a time
With every state Republican Party also prepared
To enact vote restriction laws because they’re all so ‘scared’.
