Both Sides Now

Yet once again all blame is laid on he who’s not to blame
By he who caused a mess to become totally insane
Trump demands President Biden should resign in disgrace

While globs of egg white and egg yolk drip from his orange face.

Trump never blames himself for anything he’s done at all

And so conveniently ignores his past role in the fall
Of the country Afghanistan to the Taliban’s forces

Because as always he from the truth about truth divorces.

Republicans condoned the latest losing Afghan war

A war the Brits and Russians had both lost one time before

And now they’re blaming Biden for what they did in the past

To that poor country where no peace was ever made to last.

While still in office before he won his landslide defeat

Trump boasted about how withdrawing from the war was neat

But now from social media his boasts have been removed

So he can claim withdrawal was something he never approved.

So now Trump’s screaming his demand for Biden to resign 

And blaming Joe for everything begun before the time

He lost but still claims that he won and will be reinstated

As Afghan women will again with chattel be equated.

Republicans blame Democrats and Dems the GOP

But both sides dug us in the mess as deep as deep could be

Trump’s demand is another whiny joke to be ignored

But both sides share the blame for the war that our nation gored.

The future for Afghanistan’s as bleak as it can be

The place was never designed to nurture democracy

But unlike there our nation can perhaps hope to preserve

The freedoms the Republicans demand from which we swerve.
