One Or The Other

Texas is a prime example of corruption squared
Among its politicians who for people never cared
And have become a power-retaining conspiracy 
That never gave a damn about the likes of you or me

As comfortably in fossil fuel’s back pocket they reside
Exchanging laws for tons of cash fossil fuel does provide.

Governor Greg Abbott is corruption squared again

For power plays he pulls off each time he signs with his pen

To keep cash flowing in from the fossil fuel industry 

Letting poor Texans freeze and fry he permits merrily

And refuses to allow any but his crony crew

To have a say in how the power grid to them gets through.

Texas is most obvious among corrupt states red

Who have made what’s left of red state morality drop dead

As Eisenhower said they are now a conspiracy

Of power-grubbers rather than political party

They’ve given no damn for those they were sent to represent

As ever deeper down into corruption their path bent.

One or the other has to go, pray God the GOP

And not America as it has tried so hard to be

Despite corruption in the past like Teapot Domes and such

Which compared to today’s GOP do not seem like much

The GOP is a political party no more

And it’s time freezing frying folks kicked its ass out the door.
