Wake Up Call

The Democrats had better wake up, look around, and see
Republicans don’t give a damn about democracy
They are not playing the same game Democrats think rules
And unless the Dems realize that they’ll end up sorry fools.

The only way Republicans their power still retain

Is by preventing Democrat majorities their gain

Because each day the GOP grows more minority

And thus to maintain power they embrace Trump tyranny.

And so they hold the filibuster sacred while they stay

And fight like hell to guarantee it never goes away

To ensure that the balance of power up on the Hill

Remains unbalanced as long as minorities they fill.

So far the Democrats have simply sat and wrung their hands

While trying to ignore ill winds fanned by GOP fans

As alternate reality becomes GOP creed

And wannabe dictatorship gains with alarming speed.

Wake up, sleep-walking Democrats, to survive you must fight!

Remove the rose-colored glasses blocking your naive sight!

Start listening to Mary Trump and other of her ilk

And stop thinking your “unity” can make things smooth as silk!

Republicans as you once knew them no longer are found

Fight hard the cult they’ve become while freedom still hangs around!

Republicans don’t play by rules you think still fill Hill halls

Start kicking their alt-world minority rule in the balls!
