Surprise! Surprise! Republicans care about deficits!

Where was that concern when their tax cuts dumped us in the shits?

And by “us” I of course do not mean their dear one percent

I mean all others who work to eat, raise kids, and pay rent.

Thanks to Republican tax cuts no money trickles down

It streams up in unending flood to the one percent drown

The rich get richer while the poor and COVID unemployed

Would if they got more stimulus be deficit-alloyed!

Republicans are hypocrites about all other stuff

So why not once again against big deficits get tough?

Of course they don’t equate their tax cuts and Trump’s “policies”

With skyrocketing deficits they now want Dems to ease.

The deficit pattern Republicans bid us forget

Is them driving up deficits as high as they can get

And then when voted out of office screaming long and loud

About results of what they did when they were the in crowd.

It’s no surprise Republicans once again act this way

They hope we all forget it’s always them in every way

Who drive deficits through the roof into the stratosphere 

And then blame Dems for what they cause but while in never fear.
