Wasted Effort

The firework were just so-so as far as I could see
Because they were about the country and not about ME
I did not put in an appearance at that DC show
If an event is not about ME I refuse to go.

Tonight was wasted effort because it was not for ME
Who cares about the birthday of the “land of liberty”?
It is MY country now and I demand next July 4th
What’s left of it celebrate ME, the one who sets its course.

And in another year the course I set will bring things down
No one who wants to celebrate may still be left in town
ALL fireworks I’ll therefore have shipped to Mar-a-Lago
To celebrate MY “Greatest President July 4th Show”.
