Promises Made, Promises Delayed

Aside from lowering the price of eggs I “promised” more
Things I’d do on Day One but I’d “promised” them before
I got MYSELF elected again by MY conned cult who
Were dumb enough to believe I’d do all I “promised” to
Plus that was then and this is now and since I’m here to stay
Why hurry to keep “promises” due to them MY first day?

MY “Promises Made, Promises Kept” pledge does not apply

To many things I said I’d do Day One because now I

Have concepts about plans for things I would rather first do

Like creating MY Empire and making MY foes blue

But putting Day One “promises” off’s no big deal you see

Because I “promise” I’ll get to them eventually.

Everything I “promised” to do Day One but did not

I hereby “promise” very soon will fill a higher slot

In MY to do list unless other things are more deserving

Of MY attention for which Day One stuff will need more swerving

Away from but I “promise” that if nothing further comes

Along that’s more important I will do “promised” Day Ones.
