Biding Time

Republicans have won the House of Representatives 
By one seat so a landslide’s not what they’ll claim is that gives
Them the God-given right to rule the country through His will
To their fascist oligarchy in all states instill
But to do so they know they’ll have to move fast to destroy
The constitution before new elections them annoy.

Hope seems very dismal for Democrats in defeat

And for democracy soon to be stomped under the feet

Of empowered Nazis toads goose-stepping to the rhythm

Of every vengeful command from Dear Leader they are given

Two years of total chaos stretch before us straight ahead

If not four or more depending how fast laws drop dead.

The 2024 election may have sealed the fate

Of America now that vote counts have made it Great

Again or so those having their feet measured for jackboots

Are sure occurred thanks to disinformation in cahoots

With bigotry misogyny and ignorance aligned

To set them in the winner’s seat once lying they’d refined.

They say it’s always darkest just before it goes pitch black

Which may appear to be so since the train regained the track

And will move as fast as it can to crush all opposition

To its reign of chaos gained through influenced division

But for how long division and the chaos it procures

Continues history shows never forever endures.

By opening her box Pandora released every woe

Our nation’s now beset with through God’s chosen freedom foe

For two long ugly years at least those woes will us assail

As goose stepping jackbooted thugs make policies prevail

America’s forefathers would be appalled to behold

But in that almost empty box hope bides time to unfold.
