The mega budget spending bill got passed the other day
But 20 members of the House against it voted NAY
Although before they’d cast their vote they’d worked real hard to gain
Earmarks to put their districts on the bill’s gravy train
So after they demanded money they vote it down
Which flow how ideology leads to votes unsound.

Amazingly not every House member who voted NAY
Was a MAGA Republican but mostly were that way
15 out of 20 of all those who voted NAY
Were GOP as you’d expect, the other let’s just say
Were Dems who voted against increased military spending
Which was a hopeless vote because that spending’s never ending.
As for the 15 GOP who loudly voted NAY
After securing earmarks to steer bucks their district’s way
They claim it’s their “core principles” that made them vote against
The bill filled with the earmarks they themselves created…hence
It’s hard to understand exactly which “core principles”
They mean for it seems with greed alone their party’s instilled.
Odds are its ideology that led to each NAY vote
At least among Republicans although please don’t that quote
Because the reason for those votes is difficult to see
Why work so hard to secure funds a bill will guarantee
And then vote against the earmarks you demanded before
Something made you cast your NAY vote to slam shut their door?

It happened again: These 20 House members, mostly Republican, voted against millions in funding for their own districts https://flip.it/H-VpIa
