Holy War

With battle lines so firmly set a holy war is on
To see if Christianity can force itself upon
Those who believe specific words put in the Constitution
Are there to stop minority-led religious intrusion

Into what they choose to believe and say they need not kneel

To false prophets whose pig lip lies claim they are God’s real deal.

As in the past so now again America has come

To be divided: on one side are holier-than-thous dumb

And blind to any belief not that to which they are prone

Which has convinced them God commands them to for sin atone

By forcing the majority who don’t share their belief

To bend knee their Chose One or by God come to grief.

A holy war’s the way fearful Republicans selected

To mount their crusade undertaken to not be rejected

By the majority of voters who them clearly see

As the party the term “intolerant” fits to a T

With their survival on the line one wonders not a bit

Why they harken so fervently to false prophet bullshit.

Those who believe their belief alone God does not despise

Believe He bids them make it all others monopolize

And so religious fervor dictates even unto death

They can take those who won’t breathe in their belief with each breath

And with so many not breathing it in now grown around

The holy war they’ll wage to save themselves will grow profound.
