Choose Wisely

They did not choose wisely the issue they did fondly hope
Would make Joe Biden come across as a doddering dope
Because he was three years older than Trump they thought it easy
To use “mental acuity” against him so the sleazy

Corrupt misogynist narcissist they knew would run

Could win by making Biden’s brain a joke voters would shun.

And so Republicans made fun of Joe’s stuttering speech

To proved their claim his aging brain was by Alzheimer’s breeched

And for awhile a year ago that issue they were sure

Would his chance to again be President acutely skewer

But that was before Trump back on the rally stage did strut

And their “mental acuity” bit bit them in the butt.

The lesson of this story and the moral of this tale

Is choose wisely those issues that don’t in your guy prevail

The GOP thought with “mental acuity” they’d score

And score they did but for the other party they abhor

Now after each new rally speech they must find new excuses

To defend their guy’s stable brain’s acuity abuses.
