Things on Earth are a total mess and they’re getting worse
Everything’s a sow’s ear, nothing makes it a silk purse
War rages in two places, petty tyrants come to be
Worshipped by millions who can’t past their own noses see
Everything falls apart, there’s no center left to hold
Things together as human hearts grow ever more cold.

Trump’s chokehold on his fine White cult grows stronger every day

As at hate rallies Hitler speech he puts on on clear display

While in the Gaza Strip Israel’s army’s acting like

The Nazis did before World War II made them take a hike

Putin’s manipulating what the GOP’s become

And climate change is called hoax by those who think science dumb.

Given all bad things now making life on Earth so glum

What possibly can to the rescue over the hills come?

Well…there is one thing although it’s a real long shot at best

But just maybe if things work out Earth will by it be blessed

And that’s an asteroid with a one in 10 million chance shot

To return Earth to what it was before things went to pot.

With the force of 2.6 billion tons of TNT

Earth’s release from its human troubles from space it may see

October is the month when the asteroid is due to hit

One month before November’s next election cycle shit

So ‘though one chance in 10 million’s minuscule guarantee

It’s better odds for Earth than rescue by humanity.
