In which all fine White Southerners were determined to score
Victory at any cost the first of which was stopping
Black people from at polling places in number up cropping.

Back then the Klu Klux Klan was born to black voting suppress

By murdering uppity Blacks who would have brought a mess

Of Republican victories to elections because

Back then Republicans had not yet become racist scuz

They’ve now become by switching places with the Democrats

Who at that time were the party wearing the racist hats.

And now look all around today and what you’re sure to see

Is today’s MAGA GOP repeating history

Without lynchings at least for now because deaths don’t play well

On TV screens so behind scenes they’re working hard to quell

Black votes in every way they can these modern times allow

To maintain race supremacy God on them did endow.

Republican tactics that echo the post-Civil War

Period when Blacks were being murdered by the score

Have returned in modern guise to keep fine Whites on top

Because they know they’ll never win again if fair votes drop

And so suppressing Black votes semi-legally they’ll do

Until they’ve won enough to legal lynching laws push through.
