Splotches

Maybe if democracy gets lucky finally
Republicans fighting among themselves so viciously
Will crank their hate for one another up so many notches
What’s left once their fight’s over will be just scattered blood splotches

Remaining to remind those happy to see fascists go
That when it came to self-destruction they staged quite a show.

The Civil War Republicans still fight on the South’s side

Has taken a back seat to civil wars now fought inside

The ranks of those endorsed by Trump and candidates he’s panned

As each attacks the other in ways neither side had planned

Before hate and division Trump between them caused to be

As a way to prop up his ego’s fragility.

The wing nut cadre to whom Trump has given his shout-out

Are fiercely attacking those he hates beyond any doubt

Because that side said they with him had something disagreed

And as fiercely are fighting back so both sides soon may bleed

Enough before their civil war Trump endorsed settles down

That splotches of their conflict only remain above ground.
