Abandon Ship?

The GOP are scrambling to decide what to do
Stay loyal to Dear Leader Trump or kiss his ass “Adieu”?
He who up until this point controlled their destiny
And of whom they have been afraid as toad cowards can be

They worry has now bound them tightly to Titanic’s deck

And headed for an iceberg so they think “what the heck?”.

Their scrambling began right after Trump’s accounting firm

Decided they had had enough and would not for him burn

And so after ten years of tax returns for him prepared

By them they said not one should with real numbers be compared

And they would never for him one more cooked-books return make

Because they did not want to go to jail for Donald’s sake.

And tut too is the thinking behind scrambles underway

Among frightened Republicans who Trump did once obey

Because investigations about him are closing in

And they are asking why they too should take it on the chin

If an investigation iceberg on his ass does fall

And so they’re looking for lifeboats to save their asses all.

They all had planned to sail on as Trump toadies to the end

But now they see the deck he’s bound them to ice may soon rend

And when it comes to choosing between life and loyalty

How loyal passengers on sinking ships will be we’ll see

Assuming that this time unlike close misses in the past

An iceberg hits this time while they remain tied to the mast.
