Governor DeSantis is refusing to back down
From anti-mask mandates now making him look like a clown
To parents of school children who could soon sicken and die
Because he has placed ‘freedom’ far above their anguished cry
To help their kids survive because he says mask wearing’s bad
Despite recent poll numbers showing his future is sad.

Governor Gregg Abbott from his policies won’t budge

Despite growing numbers of parents now holding a grudge

Against him for the anti-masking mandate he imposed
That’s increasing the chance their kids to bugs will be exposed

Despite him catching Covid he thinks ‘freedom’ is so cool

That any mandate limiting it he will overrule.

Governor Kristi Noem from south of North Dakota

Has joined the ranks of those filling the anti-masking quota

By taking a stance against mandates by the Government

And touting ‘freedom’ as a right their mask mandates prevent

Like DeSantis and Abbott she’s not budging one iota

From anti-mask laws that will help kids die in South Dakota

The role call of state Governors now working hard to kill

Constituents is growing and unless some kind of pill

Or vaccine is invented that can cure insanity

Occurring at state levels where it’s festering freely

Then Covid and its variants will cull kids in each state

Because their Governors don’t ‘freedom’s’ price and death equate.
