Day Of Reckoning

There will be a day of reckoning coming our way
But not the one McCarthy hopes will make Joe Biden pay
If history is any judge of where main blame should fall
Republicans will be those on whom reckoning will call.

Republicans are down on Joe due to Afghanistan
Conveniently forgetting Trump’s role in the war’s past span

Their gaslighting they’ve aimed in only one main misdirection

And that’s the one away from closer Afghan war inspection.

Along with death counts Joe inherited an Afghan mess

Due to negotiations Trump on the U.S. did press

To get the hell out of Dodge quick without a backward glance

An agreement the Dems alone now remember askance.

Trump left a fraction of U.S. troops in country behind

When he withdrew the rest without giving no never mind

To any role the Afghan government was meant to play

Which is why they threw down guns and ran the hell away.

But given Joe’s honest attempts to bring our country back

Republicans are pressing hard their myopic attack

Which sees no blame laid upon Trump and loss as all Joe’s fault

For saying after 20 war-torn years it’s time to halt.

A day of reckoning for what Republicans have done

To support what for four years was done by their chosen one

And to continue to deny he’s not still President

Will the insane nation we’ve become someday document.
