Disengaged

I’m safely down at Mar-a-Lago on Thanksgiving Day
Removed from Combat Zones that are 10 thousand miles away
Thankful for yet another year spent disregarding “rights”
While secure in the knowledge I am NOT exposed to fights
Except, of course, the fights I start with enemies each day
But none that would expose ME to bullets or bombs, no way!

What better time than Thanksgiving for yet another war?
If MY border is NOT secure I will MY troops implore
To fire at invading hoards ignoring sex or age
They ALL are TERRORISTS, OK? so why NOT kids engage?
I’ll demand troop protection from invading caravans
To close MY border if so ordered to protect MY scam.

The truth is I’m a yellow-bellied coward to the core
You’ll never see ME in a War Zone on a foreign shore
Although I’ll drop a hint or two that I “may” soon be there
I’m too afraid to visit Troops where bombs and bullets flare
Instead I’ll hunker here at home hiding behind MY rage
The first “Commander in Chief” who with troops does NOT engage.
