Props and Flattery

Using props and flattery when “they” last came around
“They” tried to stop MY pre-election Government shutdown
Glossy, shiny pictures of MY WALL they showed to ME
To prove that it is standing tall and will NOT take a knee
And words of praise they showered on ME, their Great “President”
For making MY country again as Great as it can get
Their shiny photos were pretty, their words were sweet to hear
But if I WANT to SHUT THINGS DOWN then I WILL, NEVER fear.

I do exactly what I WANT the second I decide it
If I then WANT to do the opposite I override it
I never know just what I’m doing until it’s been done
And if I change it then I claim it was NEVER begun
Again I say “consistency’s” the hobgoblin of fools
MY, like, Genius brane directs ME and then overrules
As each new thought comes flitting in to tell ME what to do
I choose NOT to open Door One and instead pick Door Two.

So although I seemed to agree when we met on Tuesday
By Wednesday I again said shutdown was perhaps OK
“If it happens, it happens” I clearly did announce
Now nobody but ONLY I ALONE know how I’ll bounce
To shutdown or to NOT shutdown, ALL KNOW those are the questions
What I “decide” to do is more important than elections
And I don’t even know MYSELF, we’ll have to wait and see
What the last thing MY, like, Genius brane’s telling ME.

If you don’t like MY view on something wait 24 hours
No doubt by then MY mind will change as sure as April showers
But if you then like what I think you had better act quick
Because who knows how long you’ve got before new thinks I pick
Just like the wind I let MY brane blow any way it chooses
And since I ALWAYS WIN there’s no way the way it blows loses
I don’t understand why none get MY simple “strategy”:
EVERY choice I make is RIGHT because it’s made by ME.
