Harley Davidson for ME was always a shining example
Proving that “Made in America” as a business goal was ample
As long as motorcycles kept getting built up in Wisconsin
American jobs were protected and could survive thick and thin.

Imagine then MY shocked surprise when yesterday I heard the news
HD was packing up and leaving MY shores for cheaper venues
Because the “tariffs” and “trade wars” I’d put in place to build strong fences
Apparently increased their costs of manufacturing expenses!

The only “target” that I had for MY “trade wars” was foreign ingrates
Now in response they’ve “targeted” fine products from fine deep red states
I said “trade wars” were EASY TO WIN and therefore “tariffs” erected
Why didn’t anybody tell ME “trade” was so “interconnected”?

Who knew “trade war” retaliation could become so damned ironic?
Who knew “Europe” was smart enough to focus on products iconic?
Who knew “trade wars” could “escalate” until you on your petard hanged?
Whoever knew should have told ME before MY “trade wars” boomeranged.

If hogs and bourbon and blue jeans sail off to factories overseas
It won’t be long before American BUISNESS is on its knees
This will NOT stand, it will NOT do, I’ll ramp up WAR to make it stop
Ratcheting MY “tariffs” up will surely make their “tariffs” flop.
