Hunker Down

As long as money’s worshipped America will remain screwed
By capitalist pigs who like Trump let no thoughts intrude
Of any other purpose in life except constant gain
Of ever greater wealth that ranks them higher in the game
Of gaining more wealth than other contestants can before

The wealth those others gain surpasses theirs on wealth’s high score.

As long as politics and money stay joined at the hip

There’s little chance corruption will from politicians slip

Away no matter who they say they’re committed to serving

Because from cash that funds their perks and power there’s no swerving

Once what’s on offer’s first been tasted like amber-trapped flies

They’re too stuck to serve anything up but trickle-down lies.

As long as MAGA politician’s feet stay swept along

Pathways they’ve been set on by wealth’s seductive siren song

Sad Dems will have to hunker down and endure ‘till those who

Find out they’ve not been trickled down upon as promised to

See through the lies the 1% sent through complicit toads

That had them cast disinformed votes down wealth preserving roads.
