When billionaires own media refusing to endorse
Becomes the standard by which they set their cowardly course
Because they fear their profits dear will be diminished by
A fascist with dementia in a brain never that spry
If he’s returned to power so the greedy cowards let
Pretend neutrality be why they will not place a bet.

When billionaires own media the freedom of the press

By greed entangled ends up helping fascists make a mess

Of what’s left of the first amendment because they won’t say

They endorse the opponent of the fascist who’ll hold sway

Over their profits should he win so neutrality claim

Thus endorsing him because they don’t his foe proclaim.

When billionaires own media the writing’s on the wall

That more than just the first amendment they’ll allow to fall

To protect their billions and the empires they’ve built

By refusing to take sides so however votes tilt

The winner’s not as pissed at them as he or she would be

If they’d had the guts needed to endorse courageously.
