Secession is back in style in Texas so they say
They being those who want to blow “united” states away
From the land that isn’t now united much at all
And will be lots less so after votes red and blue next fall
Into the hands of honest states and states prepared to cheat
To make sure their candidate has won the top slot seat.
Depending on which candidate holds the greatest appeal

With one of two different scenarios we soon will deal
If Harris wins a civil war may be the nation’s fate
If Trump wins Democrats may refuse to be ruled by hate
Either way united we will even more less be
So back in style secession everywhere we may see.
Whether or not states can secede’s open to debate
Depending on legal interpretations that relate
To state’s rights and to the U.S. as single entity
Which post-election neither side may want it still to be
And so unless some miracle uniting us drops by
Secession could red states from blue our nation apart pry.
