And other deep red Southern states does labor facts ignore
Like if a company won’t to pay workers a living wage
Not many workers will want to with that business engage

And if a state lets businesses keep workers’ wages low

The labor force in that state will to higher wage states go.

But if your state’s Republican through to it’s very core

The impact of low pay on labor forces you’ll ignore

And instead claim your “labor shortage” can be held at bay

By allowing children to work for even less pay

Because why let kids waste their time in school when they can learn

All they need to know about life when they low pay earn?

The Alabama Policy Institute (API)

Thinks making kids work for low pay is a great way to try

To rectify state “labor shortages” it says exist

For reasons other than pay levels needed to subsist

Begin employing 14 and 15 year olds and then

Let ever younger kids work until shortages you end.

API recommends a kid labor force be used

To solve Alabama’s “labor shortage” that has abused

The state’s wealthy class of fine White rich capitalists who

Deserve each profit penny they from their workforce can screw

When The God Of Profit is the chosen one anointed

By a state He’ll have no issue with children exploited.
