When you had power to stop Trump but you refused instead

But maybe on the bright side before three years you’ll be dead.

Your mind blanks out when you attempt to public speeches make

Your feet stumble decrepitly with every step they take

You’re a befuddled bastard far far past your use by date

And even though you’re finally stepping down it won’t end hate

All those who see you as a traitor for what you have done

To America feel for you, you self-serving scum.

You could not control Freedom Caucus nut cases who use

Their minority to your majority abuse

Your influence they’ve so diminished you no longer can

Pull the strings of power that once made you the main man

Republicans depended on to stack the Supreme Court

And stop impeachment being our poor nation’s last resort.

When history gets written down in future eras here’s

Hoping what it records about you during the years

You dominated Congress with corrupt manipulation

Makes clear the damage you inflicted for a generation

On the nation you prevented shining on a hill
