But the worst way to which children in Nebraska incline
Is eating on the federal government’s free welfare dime.

Governor Jim Pillen, MAGA tout extraordinaire,
Says his state won’t participate in its Fed money share
He’ll reject $18 million aimed at children who are starving
Because much worse to him than starving kids are Fed funds carving
The heart out of red states like his that demand they must be
Free to follow their own take on lack of empathy.
Arkansas, Florida, Nebraska add to the throng
Of MAGA states that don’t with federal funding get along
No matter what the reason for that funding to exist
It looks to them like welfare and therefore makes them so pissed
That they reject it despite empathy it at kids flings
Because they’d rather let kids starve than eat food welfare brings.
