Good Riddance

Texas wants to sever ties with the U.S. and go
On its independent way to where they still don’t know
But anywhere some there see better than where they’re remaining
In a nation of laws from which they would be refraining
If a vote for independence they somehow achieve
Which is why Texans aren’t hiding secession up their sleeve.

Texas is sure once they secede and strike out on their own

Things will go great because their non-state won’t need to postpone

Passing laws all fine White Texans in their hearts desire

Like forcing every immigrant from their state to retire

No matter when they arrived therein generations past

Or were born there every brown skin will be kicked out at last.

Wacky Waco is the place secessionists just met

To wacky theories promulgate and break-away plans vet

As ways to convince the fine White crowd that did there assemble

Secession was the only way alone to disassemble

Texas from the United States and light out on its own

For internal territories that aren’t liberal prone.

Texas tried once long ago to light out its own way

A separation historians say caused them Hell to pay

They couldn’t get their act together so it fell apart

And forced them back into the Union they’d tried to depart

Now they intend to try again so sure this time they’ll see

An independent nation totally immigrant-free.
