Spotted Egos

It’s not the smartest thing a stable genius can do
To praise a fellow tyrant for being as smart as you
When that person is know to every voter in your nation
As a war criminal who kills kids without hesitation
Your nation as one hates he who you’re showering with praise
How that plays out re-election may well you amaze.

Those who have come to hate the one you praise to kingdom come

In the past have kissed your ass but some have grown less dumb

And if you keep on saying Putin’s smartness you admire

Those who’ve grown smarter will of past ass-kissing goodwill tire

And in the next election you’ve convinced yourself you’ll win

The votes they cast against your ass may make it be has-been.

But leopards cannot change their spots and yours you can’t change too

So you’ll keep on praising Putin ‘though win chances you screw

You’re so sure your cult will vote for you despite genocide

He who you praise as smart thought in his war would turn the tide

He’s so bogged down in Ukraine and you’re so bogged down at home

Both stuck with spotted egos learning curves can’t smarter hone.
