Trump’s big lie is the latest in a series truth abusers
Have used in recent history to pretend they’re not losers
By blaming their loss on shortcomings they themselves possess
And thus rather than accept loss create a bigger mess

Than ever would have resulted if they’d accepted fate

And worked harder to win next time without big lie debate.

The Civil War’s still being fought because the South’s still sure

Their “Lost Cause” big lie myth made succession noble and pure

And therefore justified splitting from the U.S. away

Which they’re talking about again after the Jan 6th fray

When a Confederate flag flown in Congress demonstrated

The staying power of big lies is underestimated.

World War I led to World War II because Germans were sure

In the first their soldiers were betrayed by facts obscure

Indeed it was the Jews they said who were primarily

The traitors who denied their brave soldiers sure victory

Their “stab-in-the-back” big lie myth became a rally cry

That Hitler used to six million Jews’ murders justify.

Then birtherism became the first big lie Trump proposed

To claim Obama in Kenya first wore his swaddling clothes

Because an illegitimate black man as President

Lessened the loss sore loser whites had failed to prevent

Trump got such traction from the birther big lie myth he told

It paved the way for his biggest lie ever to unfold.

Because it helped him get elected long shot President

Which gave him leave to daily lies upon the nation vent

But then as a sore loser lost his shot at second term

And seeing that loss coming made “I Was Robbed!” big lie’s turn

Thus half the nation believes number two’s big lie myth true

And thus big lies continue to bigger messes ensue.
