Amazing Logic

“The government be damned” is what the Republicans say
As they do everything they can to make it go away
By voting in a block to not let debt ceilings suspend
And thereby ensure services on which voters depend
Become suspended indefinitely in a few days
For which they’ll then blame Democrats with logic to amaze.

Apparently Republicans believe if they stand firm

Against all things for which Democrats possibly could yearn

It will pave the way to their yearned-for thousand year long reich

Their Dear Leader The Chosen One has convinced them they’ll like

And so they’ll just vote “No” to everything Democrats try

And hope voters don’t see links between “No” votes and big lie.

But like Pinocchio their “No’s” and the big lies they tell

Are closely linked and growing bigger as we go to Hell

Which they seem to be fine with because each “No” vote they cast

They think helps shove their Hell of lost elections to the past

Their government shutdown makes it plain the “No’s” from their faces

They’re convinced by amazing logic won’t bring them disgraces.

Maintaining power once their “No’s” vote government away

Is the amazing logic Republicans put in play

To suspend basic services on which voters depend

Without being concerned their “No” votes they’ll have to defend

And so into shutdown we go thanks to GOP ‘No’s”

That like their noses and amazing logic really blows.
