Is a shining example of how he’s the kind of guy

Who touts business as usual while residents infected

By Covid-19 die due to face masks he has rejected.

Apparently his role of governor does not include

Anything that on his quest for power could intrude

Including little kids who will soon start dropping like flies

As long as his small businesses keep making pizza pies.

Gregg Abbott catches Covid but it does not change his mind

About ordering school children to leave face masks behind

When they pack back into classrooms to expose one another

To COVID-19 that will place some of them six feet under.

Apparently his role of governor excludes wholesale

Helping protect children from variants that assail

But then he’s been too busy since Covid in him cut lose

Ensuring his survival as if that was some excuse.

Republican priorities supporting power bids

Have now included letting sickness spread among school kids

Who they’ve forbidden to wear masks because masks represent

A challenge to what they call ‘freedom’ from the government.

Republicans defended gun rights after Sandy Hook

And global warning as a future issue they forsook

They’re always much too busy to care about childrens’ survival

Because it takes so much effort to suppress their Dem rival.

DeSantis, Abbott, all today’s Republicans will be

At some point in the future viewed with incredulity

Provided future generations somehow survive through

Concerted effort by their party to all children screw.
